I’m Jake Melby, owner of Melby Electric. I’ve been working in the electrical field since 2012. Born and raised in Snohomish County, I have deep roots in our community and understand the electrical needs of local homes and businesses. In 2015, I co-founded MW Electric (Melby Watson) and gained valuable experience serving customers throughout the region. In 2020, my business partner and I amicably split ways to serve different service areas, which led me to establish Melby Electric in Marysville, Washington.
At Melby Electric, we provide comprehensive electrical services for both residential and commercial clients. We specialize in electrical installations, repairs, generator services, and panel replacements. Based in Marysville, and serve customers throughout Snohomish County with reliable, professional electrical work. Our focus is on delivering quality service, fair pricing, and practical solutions for all electrical needs, from small residential projects to larger commercial installations.

Jake and Matt have done several jobs for us, ranging from a generator install to a media room remodel. They are friendly, on time, and very meticulous in their work. They go out of their way to ensure the end result is aesthetically pleasing, something not always the case with other electricians.Posted on Kathy JohnsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We lost all electrical power to all the outlets in all bathrooms. My husband and I thought it was a GFI trip but we could not locate the problem. We had used Melby Electric in the past so we contact them. Even on a Sunday night we got a reply from the owner of the business and within five minutes we had an appointment all set up. If that wasn't amazing enough, the two electricians that came to the house, Matt and Hunter, we just so wonderful. They explained everything that was going on, what they were testing for etc. They were professional, arrived right on time, and did not appear to be someone who was going to do the work and then come back later when we were not home and burgle the house! The service was excellent, the demeanor of Matt and Hunter was excellent, and I am very happy to recommend Melby Electric as well as Hunter and Matt! Good job!!!!!Posted on Tara UrbanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very good service. Thorough and communicative. Matt and Hunter were absolutely amazing repairing a section of damaged 20a circuit wire and testing the repair for proper voltage. Both worked efficiently, all the while taking the time to explain my options (with no pressure), what they were doing and what was going to happen next. They were understanding and patient every time I had a question. They were friendly and helpful, always making me feel like a valued customer. I highly recommend Melby Electric. They truly care about their customers and deliver outstanding results.Posted on Jeffrey MaxwellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Service was absolutely five star. The crew in the field was outstanding - prompt, courteous, great communication. The only reason I didn’t rate the entire experience as five stars is that I was a little shocked at the cost - and that’s on me. I should have asked for more information before I booked the service. The crew was here for exactly one hour and the labor charge was $650. Melby is up front on their website that there is a minimum charge of $450 for them to show up. It’s altogether reasonable for the provider of a trade service to have a minimum charge to put a team in the field. Trucks and equipment don’t buy themselves. However, I’m still a bit shell shocked that the $450 doesn’t cover more of the cost of service. Since the service was so good, I won’t hesitate to use them again, but I’ll ask for more upfront information next time.Posted on Ron ColwillTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
